Cake Smash & Bath Splash Photo Sessions by Wirral Photographer 

One Year Already!!! How quickly time flies! You’ve made it through, 12 months or 365 days (some years 366 days) or 52 weeks or 8,760 hours. Any way you look at it, so much has passed. Just think what’s been crammed in to one year you probably haven’t stopped since you gave birth. 

The 1st birthday is such an important milestone not to be missed. At Derya Vicars Photography we have the Cake Smash followed by the option of a Bath Splash. 

It’s not just about baby, during our sessions we include parent(s) in some of the photos before your little one takes to smashing a custom made cake to bits. 

We can’t guarantee that baby will get down and get covered in icing and cake, but we make sure you get some cracking shots to capture the happy mood of the celebration.

The Cake Smash element is from America, when a child reaches their 1st Birthday they are given a cake to do with as they please. It can either be a complete mess by the end of the photo session or looking very untouched. The child leads the session, sometimes you can take part with a wooden spoon to get them going!

Afterwards, a warm bubble bath with toys is setup in the studio for the child to enjoy. Some more photos are taken of them splashing around, and once they have finished they are wrapped in a fluffy towel.

Normally Cake Smash and Splashes are for children coming up to their 1st birthday. They don’t, of course, have to be one at the time of the photo shoot! Some parents bring their children to Derya Vicars Photography a few weeks before the birthday so grandparents can receive the final artwork as a gift.

I use baby shampoo and bubble bath but if your child requires any special medicated bubble bath for sensitive skin you may wish to bring that with you. A fluffy towel is provided but if your child has their own favourite towel and you would like them to wear it, then let them bring it.

In the studio there are already some pre-defined themes, which we can talk about when you book your session or you can drop in for a coffee and a chat before deciding. Just ring first to make sure a photo shoot is not in session.

Local Wirral suppliers are used and the cake is provided based on the theme that is chosen. Balloons, tissue pom-poms, ties, bunting are all colour coordinated. The session price includes the cake so you do not have the stress or hassle buying one and bringing it to the studio.

 

 

 

 

To book your session click on the button ‘Book Now’ and contact the studio; we ask for a £100 session fee. The session fee covers the studio time while we take your photos, the birthday cake, balloons and your outfits according to your chosen theme.  If you purchase one of our packages you will receive a complimentary single 10×8″ mounted print from your selected digital images. 

You will be invited back to the studio one to two weeks after your session to view your final gallery of professionally edited images. At the end of the viewing session you may decide which of the packages you wish to purchase and treasure in your home. 

In the age of Digital Photography we know that USB is the choice of storing images. It’s understandable to us that you’ll want to share your photos with other people in your family. Remember when floppy discs were all the rage? We didn’t think they would be overtaken by CDs and yet DVDs came along. Well you need to ask yourself if USB sticks will still be around in 10 years time? 

The one item that has been around since photography studios opened are frames, printed images. So we feel a mix of Digital and Print Packages is the way forward. Portraits should be on your wall, or in albums which is why we’ve created the ‘Studio Collection’ which combine the best of our products. Be sure to have a good look at our products when you visit the studio.
